Gallia County Prosecuting Attorney, Jason D. Holdren, announces the recent sentencings of 16 individuals by Judge Margaret Evans in the Gallia County Common Pleas Court.
Gabriel L. Conkey, age 18, of Patriot, Ohio, was recently convicted of Murder, a Special Category Felony. Conkey was sentenced to a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison with a possible maximum of life in prison. If Conkey is released from prison, he will be placed on parole and supervised by the Adult Parole Authority.
Dustin J. Whitt, age 39, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was recently convicted of Burglary, a felony of the second degree. Whitt was sentenced to a minimum period of 5 years in prison and a maximum period of 7.5 years in prison. Upon his release from prison, Whitt will be under the supervision of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for a mandatory term of at least eighteen months and up to three years.
Bretton M. Stutes, age 31, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was recently convicted of Violating a Protection Order, a felony of the fifth degree. Stutes was sentenced to 11 months in prison. This sentence will be served consecutively to his current prison sentence.
Dustin M. Thacker, age 36, of Vinton, Ohio, was recently convicted of Aggravated Possession of
Drugs (Methamphetamine), a felony of the third degree, and Theft, a felony of the fifth degree. Thacker was sentenced to prison for 36 months.
Derrick Grimm, age 30, of Crown City, Ohio, was recently convicted of Strangulation, a felony
of the third degree. Grimm was sentenced to 36 months in prison. Upon release from prison,
Grimm will be under the supervision of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for at least one year and
up to three years.
Ryan K. Williams, age 46, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was recently convicted of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs in an amount greater than or equal to bulk but less than five times bulk (Methamphetamine), a felony of the third degree. Williams was sentenced to prison for 24 months.
Traci E. Caldwell, age 38, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was recently convicted of Complicity to Burglary, a felony of the third degree. Caldwell was sentenced to prison for 30 months.
Ralph E. Bays, age 80, of Patriot, Ohio, was recently convicted of Gross Sexual Imposition, a felony of the third degree. Bays was sentenced to prison for 60 months. Upon his release from prison, Bays will be under the supervision of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for a mandatory term of five years and will be required to register as a “Tier Two Sex Offender.”
Cody L. Sinclair, age 35, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was recently convicted of Illegal Conveyance of Drugs onto Grounds of a Detention Facility, a felony of the third degree. Sinclair was sentenced to prison for 30 months.
Ryan J. Cochran, age 34, of Bidwell, Ohio, was recently convicted of Possession of a Fentanyl
Related Compound, a felony of the fourth degree. Cochran was sentenced to prison for 12 months. Additionally, Cochran was on post release control from a prior prison term at the time of the offense. Therefore, the Court ordered that Cochran serve 233 days in prison for the balance of his parole time which will be served in addition to his 12-month sentence.
Justin D. Mumford, age 27, of Fishers, Indiana, was recently convicted of Aggravated Vehicular Assault, a felony of the third degree, and Driving While Under the Influence, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Mumford was sentenced to prison for a mandatory period of 24 months. Mumford was also given a Class 3 operator license suspension.
Dakota G. Mullins, age 21, of Vinton, Ohio, was recently convicted of Failure to Notify Change of Address, a felony of the third degree. Mullins was sentenced to 24 months in prison. Mullins is a registered sex offender in this state and his reporting requirements will continue upon his release.
Joshua A. Longworth, age 26, of Portsmouth, Ohio, was recently convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs in an amount equal to or greater than bulk but less than five times bulk (Psilocyn), a felony of the third degree. Longworth was sentenced to 24 months in prison.
Jasmine M. Craig, age 24, of Battle Creek, Michigan, was recently sentenced to prison for 24 months after violating the terms of her community control by committing a new criminal offense. Craig was arrested and later convicted of OVI in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Craig was originally placed on community control after being convicted of Possession of Heroin and Possession of a Fentanyl Related Compound, both felonies of the third degree.
Chad A. Ramsey, age 40, of Newark, Ohio, was recently convicted of Failure to Notify Change of Address, a felony of the third degree. Ramsey was sentenced to 24 months in prison. Ramsey is a registered sex offender in this state and his reporting requirements will continue upon his release.
Seth Jeffers, age 29, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was recently convicted of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, a felony of the fourth degree. Jeffers was sentenced to prison for 17 months.
