8 SENTENCED TO PRISON

Gallia County Prosecuting Attorney, Jason D. Holdren, announces the sentencings of 8 individuals in the Gallia County Common Pleas Court:

James E. Phoenix, age 48, of Vinton, Ohio, was convicted of Having Weapons While Under Disability and Complicity to Discharging a Firearm on or Near a Prohibited Premises, both felonies of the third degree. Phoenix was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Rashae L. Williams, age 31, of Dayton, Ohio, was convicted of Trafficking in a Fentanyl Related Compound in an amount equal to or greater than 20 grams but less than fifty grams (28.07 grams), a felony of the first degree. Williams was sentenced to a mandatory minimum prison term of 8 years and a maximum prison term of 12 years. Upon her release, Williams will be placed on post release control under the supervision of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for 2 to 5 years.

Josh Baley, age 23, of Crown City, Ohio, was convicted of three counts of Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter Involving a Minor Person, felonies of the second degree; and two counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor, felonies of the second degree. Baley was sentenced to a minimum prison term of 10 years and a maximum prison term of 11 years. Upon his release, Baley will be placed on post release control under the supervision of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for a mandatory term of 5 years. Baley will be required to register as a Tier 3 Sex Offender upon his release from prison.

Nathan E. Matthews, age 39, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, was convicted of Attempted Receiving Stolen Property, a felony of the fifth degree; and Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer, a felony of the third degree. Matthews was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Brian Petrie, age 38, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was convicted of Felonious Assault, a felony of the second degree. Petrie was sentenced to a minimum prison term of 5 years and a maximum prison term of 7.5 years. Upon his release, Petrie will be placed on post release control under the supervision of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for a mandatory term of at least 18 months.

Bradley A. Boggess, age 34, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was convicted of Burglary, a felony of the second degree. Boggess was sentenced to a minimum prison term of 5 years and a maximum prison term of 7.5 years. Upon his release, Boggess will be placed on post release control under the supervision of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for a mandatory term of at least 18 months and up to 3 years.

Larry J. Gillenwater, age 44, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was convicted of Possession of Drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. Gillenwater was sentenced to prison for 6 months. In addition to this prison term, Gillenwater was sentenced to 701 days in prison, as he was on post release control during the commission of this offense.

Patrick S. Caldwell, age 35, of Bidwell, Ohio, was convicted of Burglary, a felony of the second degree. Caldwell was sentenced to a minimum prison term of 4 years and a maximum prison term of 6 years. Upon his release, Caldwell will be placed on post release control under the supervision of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for a mandatory term of at least 18 months and up to 3 years.
