DETROIT-TO-HUNTINGTON DRUG RUNNER CONVICTED OF TRAFFICKING 78.9 GRAMS OF HEROIN LACED WITH FENTANYL

Prosecuting Attorney Jason Holdren announces that Dionte D. Simpson, age 25, of Huntington, West Virginia, pleaded guilty today to Trafficking in Heroin, a felony of the first degree, in the Gallia County Common Pleas Court.

“The Defendant was arrested on April 2, 2017, following a traffic stop where almost 80 grams of heroin was seized,” stated Holdren. “The drugs were examined at the Ohio State Highway Patrol crime lab and the heroin was found to contain fentanyl.”

Simpson will be sentenced in the Gallia County Common Pleas Court by Judge Margaret Evans on June 27, 2017.
