Prosecuting Attorney Jason Holdren announces the recent conviction and sentencing of William C. Burns, III, age 39, of Gallipolis, Ohio. On April 5, 2017, William C. Burns, III, was convicted of multiple drug charges, including two counts of Trafficking in Heroin and one count of Possession of Heroin. “Burns committed these crimes while serving a term of probation through the Gallia County Common Pleas Court. Judge Margaret Evans sentenced Burns to a four (4) year prison term,” stated Holdren. “Mr. Burns has been selling heroin on Buck Ridge Road in Springfield Township for far too long and thanks to the diligent work of the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office and the Gallia-Meigs Major Crimes Task Force, the defendant is no longer a threat to our community.”
Prosecutor Holdren commends his office staff and the investigating officers for a prompt and swift resolution to this case. “I would like to thank everyone who played a part in this successful prosecution. When concerned citizens collaborate with our law enforcement officers by providing necessary tips and information, we get great results.”
