HENDERSON HEADED TO PRISON AFTER HIGH-SPEED CHASE (VIDEO)

Today, Shannon T. Henderson, age 21, of Vinton, Ohio, was sentenced to two years in prison for his actions out of a high speed chase on June 1, 2017.

On that date, Henderson decided to flee from local police while driving a pick-up truck on S.R.325 just north of Rio Grande. Henderson drove off the roadway on Bandy Road, driving across a field and into a wooded area in an attempt to elude officers.

Henderson was taken into to custody by Gallia County Sheriff’s Deputies Brady Curry and Tylun Campbell, without further incident. Law enforcement agencies including the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, Gallia County Prosecutor’s Office, Rio Grande Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Aviation Section and Troopers from the Gallipolis Post assisted in the surveillance, pursuit and apprehension of Henderson.

In the video, you will hear Sheriff Champlin narrating and directing the ground units to end the pursuit and apprehend Henderson.

Less than two months after the incident, Henderson was indicted by the Gallia County Grand Jury, convicted of Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of a Police Officer, and was sentenced by Judge Margaret Evans to 2 years in prison for his actions.

“I am pleased with the results of this case and how quickly Henderson was brought to justice,” stated Gallia County Prosecutor Jason Holdren.

“As I stated in my campaign for office, I would use every law enforcement resource at my disposal to rid Gallia County of the criminals that are victimizing our citizens,” commented Sheriff Matt Champlin.

The Gallia County Prosecutor’s Office and Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all of the law enforcement agencies that assisted in the apprehension of Henderson for their assistance in this case.
